Finishing hard rubber stock spacers

Not sure, but when I made pipes (for tobacco smoking), the stems were hard rubber and polished very nicely on a buffing wheel with abrasive compounds. Those were always polished to a mirror, but you could use a different grit to get satin.

Don't know how it would work with softer rubber, but if it's soft, painting it with anything is probably not a good idea--it will crack and peel if the rubber flexes.


Hmm...followed the link and it says hard rubber. I would definitely try buffing first and see the result.
