I have a CZ550 kevlar which I love except for the LOP. I have monkey arms and need over 1" added. I've tried a 3/4" decellerator slip-on which I simply hate.
To the point, I've decided to risk it and lengthen the stock myself. Any advice? Specifically:
1. What's the best way to remove the existing pad? It's about 3/4" think and appears to be glued on. Would a heat gun hurt/discolor the kevlar stock? Or, should I just cut the darn thing off and sand flush?
2. I intend to use some hard rubber spacers (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=9650&title=HARD%20RUBBER%20BUTTSTOCK%20SPACER) What's the best way to attached them? Some sort of adhesive? I've thought about using thread-in threaded inserts and passing a couple of bolts through the spacers into the stock/inserts. Then I can either screw or glue on a thin pad to the spacers.
Thoughts?
