I have a ATI Titan that is my first 1911, its the one I learned how to completely strip, polish, modify, and tinker with. I have changed out many of the parts and polished everything from the slide rails down. I have a smooth action and very smooth trigger which makes it a pleasure to shoot.
So after all of the modification and polishing I now have a gun that is ready to refinish. Since I did everything else I also wish to refinish it myself. I have been in the coatings industry for over 30 years so I am wanting a spray applied finish.
I have checked out the duracoat products and the cerakote products but am unsure of which one to go with. There may be more products available that I am not familiar with as well.

I like the color varations available with the cerakote product and noticed that the duracoat does not have as many selections to choose from.
What are some products you guys/gals have experience with and what do you recommend?
This gun will be a carry piece as well so a durable finish is most desirable.
Any photos of your work will be appreciated.

others have refinished guns with duracoat. I would search for duracoat on this forum and the kel tec forum.
