Hey everyone, I am thinking about buying an S&W M&P .40. I found some ammo that I thought would be a deal. LuckyGunner.com is selling Fiocchi Ammo 155 grain for 16 bucks a pop (unless you buy 10 or more boxes, then its $15.50. I was wondering how Fiocchi Ammo shot. Has anyone used it at all?

At that price (excluding shipping), each round is 32 cents. At Wal-Mart, you can get Federal 180gr .40 in a Maroon/red box for about this price, sometimes slightly less at 29/30 cents per round. Not sure about your situation, but Wal-Marts around here always seem to have .40 in stock and at a competitive price. Shoots just fine out of my P229. I've had identical results with Remington UMC 180gr at the same price, although the Remington seemed to be a bit dirtier. Not a real problem since I clean it when I'm done.

I seem to get better results using the heavier weighted ammo in terms of accuracy. Shooting at 10 yards there's no difference, but when I go out to 50 I have more trouble with the lighter bullets (165s). Could have been just a fluke that day, I only had 2 boxes of it. I suppose it depends what distance you'll be shooting and how your gun responds to it. 155 seems a bit light for .40 range ammo, but for punching holes, the paper won't care.

I haven't used Fiocchi pistol ammo, but I have used it in my AR. Decent quality. If the price numbers work out for you, try it out. It certainly won't hurt.

I've shot about 300 or so rounds of Fiocchi ammo in 9x18 Makarov. Never had a single problem with it. No case bulges, no hard primers, nothing. It's shot flawlessly. I think its best ammo out there for the money.

Actually I bought several boxes of .380 back in the late 80's.
I bought an FEG .380 (copy of a Walther) the same day for $115.00
I shot the remainder of the stuff at the range a couple weeks back. It functioned flawlessly and at 25 ft grouped incredibly well. I have a lot of respect for that ammo particularly at it's price.

Fiocchi makes fine ammo. Have no fear.

At Wal-Mart, you can get Federal 180gr .40 in a Maroon/red box for about this price,

I just bought some of this Federal .40sw at Walmart , priced at $13.32 I think it was.

I like Fiocchi a lot. I've shot about 3k rounds in 9mm and 1k .38/.357. Also a couple of boxes in .45 ACP.

Great stuff, most accurate ammo in my Glock 17 and loaded a bit above average it seems.
