Fiocchi brass (9mm)

Seen something strange yesterday. My buddy was shooting some old factory ammo, and I noticed each and every case was split. Looked like old 45 brass splitting in the neck, some even twice, 180 apart. Bad batch of brass? I know I reloaded GFI headstamp before and never seen any splits, thought it was a little odd.

Yea, strange. I have loaded some 9MM range brass marked GFI with no issues as well.

No issues with GFI brass in either caliber.

The Fiocchi brass I see is headstamped "Fiocchi".. and they are fine so far. How old are we talking about here? Is it possible they were stored imporperly?

Thanks evan, the headstamp is GFL, not GFI. The ammo is only 10yrs old or so, and stored in his gun safe.
