Firearm history research - any other companies like S&W?

I was reminded recently of the great service that S&W offers - the historic research that Roy Jinks will do for a reasonable fee.

Aside from Smith and Wesson - what other gun manufacturers offer "letters of authentication" or a printed letter detailing the history of a particular serial number? What will S&W do when Jinks retires?

Colt also offers that service.

AFAIK S&W and Colt are the only ones. The Colt letter is significantly more $$ than the S&W letter. At least it used to be.
