celebrating a birthday and were drinking while playing with at least one handgun.

Investigators said the men often played a game of loading a revolver with one slug, spinning the cylinder and then pointing it at another player before pulling the trigger.

I don't think anything that can be taught to kids would have prevented these morons from playing Russian Roulette. There's no amount of basic safety training that could prevent this.

Rather than suspending our children for drawing a picture of a gun, our schools should be teaching basic firearm education and safety, just like driver's ed.
Let's just hope it doesn't end up going the way of drug and sex ed.

Yep. This sounds like a case of cleaning the gene pool, not ignorance but plain outright stupidity. Absolutely agree in a general sense though about education. When you ignore or worse yet demonize something kids and even adults that don't know better get curious. Sometimes even people that know better do stupid things, but at least education can cut down on accidents born of ignorance.

hso, it also said he thought it was safe because he could see the bullet in one of the chambers.

This happened about 25 miles from me. It makes me shake my head in amazement that some people live as long as they do.

Drinking + play + guns. What can you say to that when an anti puts it in your face?

Hunter safety classes were often taught at high schools after normal hours. Don't see why a GunEd could not be taught as well. I like to see useful stuff taught to kids.

What Joe and Barry meant to say was, "If it saves just one life or meets our 'grow the reach and power of government' agenda..."
