Was at the local Sportsman's Warehouse today, checking out some of the shotguns. I picked up a Benelli Nova (the H20 short-barreled variant) to examine it as I've heard good things about these guns but had never before handled one. When I looked down the sights I noticed that the front sight was noticeably misaligned with the rear sight.

Now, I know that sight misalignment issues are nothing new to guns like the Romanian AK's or Norinco shotguns (got an M37 copy with a slightly off center front sight), and I've even seen a NIB Remington 870 HD with a caddywompus front sight, but I was kind of surprised that a manufacturer like Benelli would have this crop up.

Nobody's perfect and I'm sure that even Benelli sends out a less-than-perfect gun every now and then. Any of you Nova owners ever run into this before?

Isn't the Nova one of their really not expensive product lines?

Maybe they had a shortage of QA and they were all looking at their more $$$ products.

If I'm correct the Nova models run in the $300-$400 range. This is a far cry from thier $1000+ guns. I looked at some Novas the last few times I was in gunstores and, to me, they felt very substandard and "ricketey". Personally I see no reason for going for anything but a Remington 870 for a pump shotgun in the $300-$400 range.
