I have a Firestorm 45 acp compact model. I was at a gun shop with it and we were talking about magazines for it. The Firestorm mags are fairly high in price.
The guy at the shop has a Springfield full sized pistol. He put the mag in my Firestorm, and it appeared to fit. It is a standard 45 mag that will fit a standard 45. He sells them for half the price of the Firestorm mags.
I did not try loading a round, but the mag looks like it fits and appears to be the same size.
My Firestorm is supposed to hold 7 rounds, but the mag that came with mine holds 8 rounds. The mag that we tried is also an 8 round.
Does anyone know if the standard 45 mag will function in the Firestorm?
The reason that I went to the gun store to begin with was that one of the screws in the grip is stripped on my Firestorm, evidently from the factory, and I am trying to find a screw for it. I cannot seem to locate a grip screw, as it is metric, and an odd ball.

There is no standard!

Are we talking 1911 mags, here? Best bet is to grab a couple of snap caps, load the magazine, and cycle it to see if it goes.

Of course, only actually firing rounds out of those mags will reveal any feed angle based problems (for instance) that will pop out of the woodwork with the slide moving at full speed.

When I mentioned standard mags, I was referring to what the dealer labeled them as. He was referring to the 1911 mags which fit alot of the standard platform pistols. I know there are variences, but the 1911's are fairly standard.
I just find it hard to believe that the mag actually fit in the Firestorm.
I will try the snap cap thing. I am sure that he will let me borrow his mag. Maybe he will let me take it home after that test and I can fire a few live rounds through it.

If memory serves, your Firestorm was made by Llama. Regular 1911 mags should work fine.

If your firestorm is a 1911 type pistol it is a Llama and regular 45 mags will work. But you mag likely won't work in a springer or any other 1911 type except a Llama.
