I am trying to find a set of wooden grips to fit my Firestorm compact 45. I have checked about every where with no luck. Either they do not carry them or I do not like the wood. I know that a standard 8 round colt 45 mag will work in my Firestorm, so I am looking at standard grips to fit it.
I need the measurement of a standard colt 1911 grip (length and width at widest point ). Also I need the measurement from center of grip screw to center of other grip screw.
I am going to attempt to take a set of standard colt 45 auto grips and make them fit. I never realized it would be this hard to find these measurements.
Any info would be appreciated.

The hole spacing is going to be your problem. If you log onto http://forum.m1911.org/ you'll see that many of the forum sponsors are grip makers. I'd suggest that you contact some of the people/companies who make wood grips for the 1911 (such as Esmeralda, Wood Grips, VZ Grips) and ask if they can make a set with the Llama/Firestorm spacing, or sell you a set with no holes so you can drill your own.

Thanks for the replys. I have discovered that the hold spacing is going to be a problem. I will contact the people mentioned and see if they can make a set without holes in it.
I may end up having to make my own set.

Send an email off to the folks at www.gunguysgrips.com

They make some beautiful grips in all sorts of exotic woods, as such low prices that you won't believe it. I know that they make them for Llama .45's because I bid on a set they had listed on Ebay. I was hoping they'd fit an old style Llama .38 Super, but I lost the bid.

Just send an outline tracing of your grips to a gripmaker and mark location of the screw holes.
