firing pin for winchester model 74

i just traded for a winchester model 74 with no firing pin and i ordered the firing pin from numrich. i put it in, but the gun still wont fire. does any one know if i need to file it down to any particular profile to get it to work?

is it a pre 64 or post 64, they use different pins
