First aid for range

good thread and good advice so far.

my kit is similar to cc-hangfire's. separated into two kits, one for blowout and the other for airway and misc booboo stuff.

i go to the 'range' at least 4-6 times per week. i have to refill the booboo stuff pretty regularly. i can't tell you how many times people ask for aspirin, or get a cut that while certainly not life threatening, is deep enough to deserve attention.

the stuff that gets used most in my kit is for cuts... after poking a small hole in the top of a water bottle so you can squeeze it and get some pressure, and rinsing the area... a bit of antibiotic cream and some gauze and a cohesive bandage or similar.

Entirely range dependent....

Some ranges are self-policed: Which means an entire spectrum of knowledge from none to expert.
Some ranges qualify their RSOs using the NRA Range Safety Officer short course, which does include a modicum of emergency medical response/treatment
Thank you, that is very useful information, I see this is a question I have to ask before deciding whether to use a certain range.
