Finally got around to running a box of ammo through my P89 today. I picked it up about 2 weeks ago from a local gun shop-very "low mileage" gun in mint condition. Paid right at $400 for the gun, 3 mags(2-15 round mags and a single "Bill Clinton" 10 round mag), a set of Hogue grips and a box of CCI Blazer 115gr FMJ ammo.

I did a test run similar the Texas CHL qualifying test.
20 rounds from 3 yards
20 rounds from 7 yards
10 rounds from 15 yards
The lowest shot on the target was the very first DA round the first time I've fired this particular gun. I think it was good for the first time out with this gun,and the Hogue grips made it a pleasure to shoot.

I used to have a P94, and putting Hogue grips on it was the best thing I ever did. Made a tremendous difference. I also covered the backstrap with skateboard tape, which made for an even better grip.

Nice shooting. Be careful about buying mags- I made the mistake of buying some inexpensive pre-bans back in the day, and they were complete POSs. I think they were Triple K or something like that- came from Midway.

The 10 round and one of the 15 round mags are Ruger mags, and the other is an aftermarket. I'm planning on rounding up a couple of aftermarket 17 round mags, and a single 30 round just for fun :)

I have a P89, with hogue grips, great gun - decent accuracy and unparalleled durability. I use Mec-Gar 17 round mags that I got from midway for a very decent price. They have operated flawlessly for thousands of rounds.
