I went and shot a few rounds yesterday with my new (and only) pistol. I walked into the woods and setup a target I made and printed out. I taped the target to a stump of an old tree that had been cut down. I walked back about 15-20 yards, as far as I could go before falling into a creekbed.

I fired my first shot with single action. It amazed me. It was straight above the bullseye, about 1.5" above it. I thought to myself, "Yeah... I'm good."

Anyway... It was fun. I didn't get to shoot but 40 rounds due to the weather. I was shooting some cheap Winchester White Box target rounds from Walmart. It never jammed up on me. My magazines are 15 rounders, but I only loaded 10. It was just easier.

My last 20 rounds were what I'd call rapid fire. They were as fast as I could shoot and still hit the 8.5x11 sheet of paper. I shot all 10 rounds at 1 round per second or faster, as fast as I could reaquire the bulleye anywhere near my front and rear sights. I kept all but one of those 20 "rapid" fire shots on the target. The stray one hit the stump about 3 inches from the paper.

I am happy with my purchase. I"ll go and shoot another 100 rounds next weekend, if not later today! :D

I accidentally kept coming up on your threads about buying it and waiting for it and all that, so i'm glad to hear you finally have it and its what you expected:)

Thanks guys. I actually learned of a few things that I need to buy, after buying a safe next month. I need a holster of some sort, some little brushes (acid brushes maybe), and a can of compressed air.

I got to loading the magazines pretty quickly (for me), but I am still thinking about getting a magazine loader. The HKS loader is probably what I'll get.

Ruger P95.

One of the best modern 9mms in production today, IMHO. Very glad I got mine about 3 weeks ago. Especially since I have the stainless version in 15+1 ;) .

Hey, congrats.

U may wanna practice at a closer range, but it sounds like U did a pretty good job with that target...

And now... It has to be said:

I have owned 2 P95's in the past, and they were both wonderfully reliable and accurate. I would say that you did very well on your choice of the Ruger. My only Rugers now is a blued Security Six form 1976 and a stainless Service Six. Heck, I still use my hearing protectors with the Ruger logo on them! Great guns!

Maybe I can take pics after I clean it up. I had it lying on the opened factory box on top of some leaves. I got up from squating down and loading a magazine from the box, and I spun my foot while getting up. I got damp dirt and leaf litter all over the gun! I wiped it off, but it needs some attention.

I did put a Hogue "Handall" universal grip on it. That wasn't the easiest of tasks, but a hair dryer sure helped things along. :)

Pics

I finally took some pictures of my new P95PR. The safety also serves as a decocker on the PR models. I need to buy a holster for walking through the woods, on the cheap.

I saw a P95 in the store the other day and it seems that Ruger has updated the gripping surface and slimmed down the frame a bit. I've only fired one once but it seems like a nice weapon. Good job on the pics and congrats.
