I don't think I made too bad of a choice. :)

Got that and a 50 round box of SS192 yesterday. I think it'll fit in nicely with my FN FNC. :)

Woo, that's a great looking gun. Doesn't look as goofy as my old IOM model with the big circular trigger guard. With the 20 round mags it might be a great carry piece. If you can get used to having 1 in the pipe, cocked, and 'locked' with that little plastic safety switch. :uhoh:

That's one thing I don't like. I would have preferred it be SA/DA with a decocker, it's not up to me.

Ditto San, I just bought a Ruger P95. Not much better looking, but the ammo is cheap and it doesn't try too hard to look good.

I'm sorry. Those are ugly pistols. Not saying anything about quality or anything, they just look like butt to me.

Then don't buy one. Let me be happy with my $1,000 toy.

I'm sorry, PMDW, but they are right. So to look out for a fellow shooter, I'll send my address so you won't have to be embarrased when at the range. ;)

BTW, let us know how it fires. The range I go to has been looking for one to "test".

Those are really sweet! We can't keep them in stock and everyone who has bought one has sent friends in to buy themselves one too!

...but $1000? Did you get kissed?

That's the FiveseveN USG in 5.7x28mm

The brady bunch has been calling them copkillers because the military/LE only ammo is designed to penetrate 50 layers of kevlar. Nevermind that the LE ammunition is illegal for civilians to own, or the fact that no cop has ever been shot, much less killed by one.

What is so great about this gun? I'm not being sarcastic. I just don't know. I have always heard people drooling about this gun... What does it do that is so special? Isn't it just a very small-caliber handgun?

I paid dealer cost on it. Working at a gun store has its perks. ;)

As for what makes it so special, as was said before, the LE/Govt only ammo was designed to penetrate kevlar vests and what not. The brady bunch has got people scared into thinking that it'll penetrate vests with any ammo. They never mentioned the ammo that will is restricted. As a result, FN has supposedly stopped importation of the gun and/or ammo (depending on who you talk to). Alot of people expect the gun/ammo to be banned within a year.

I'm not sure I'm ever going to shoot it. Ammo is almost $1 a round as it is. I don't want to shoot up what might cost $5 a round in 9 months. Plua the fact that there may never be any more Five-seveNs is making me want to leave it in the box in the closet for a few years, then see about selling it for two or three times what I paid for it.

I do know that a coworker purchased one as well and does plan on shooting it. May take his for a test drive. :)

I'll let you know what happens with that.

You expect someone to pay a lot for a gun they can't get ammo for?

You should be stockpiling Russian Nagant revolvers :)

A local gun store has that gun for $840. I thought the "did you get kissed?" comment was meant to say the price was high, not low.

I know. I was saying that I didn't actually pay $1,000 for it. The "$1,000" was more or less referring to the gun's value.

Oh yeah... MSRP is like $1050 or something...

How does it shoot? Is it true that it has very little recoil and follow-up shots are easy?
