First handmade knife done

Nope, it's working fine for me so far.

I made more than one though, so I don't mess with angles as much.

The first two remind me of roach belly knives, which i like.

I say, grind a false edge on the top knife to get rid of the nick.
That way, it's a design feature, not an "oops".

Oh, you just keep getting better!

Another 'constructive criticism'' tip though.

Make the retainer snap strap so it points backward to the direction of carry.

That way?
It won't get snagged on brush and get un-snapped by accident.

Rubbing against stuff will punch it down tighter, instead of un-snapping it.

Your sheath snap is right for left side carry.
Wrong for right side carry.

I actually did it that way on purpose. It just felt like the right way to unsnap while wearing it.

But you make sense.

Thanks for your input. I take it each time and use it to try and improve each time.

I'm working on a Sharpfinger style and a paring knife now. Ebony for the Paring and probably ironwood fro the sharpfinger.

I'm toying with the idea of a soft leather roll for the paring knife, which is a gift for my friends Mom. Maybe a simple soft leather roll, with one pouch and strap for the one knife.

The Sharpfinger will need a funky shaped sheath. I struggle with design creativity, so that one will be tough to design.

But I'm still having fun doing it.

I decided to go another route for the paring knife. I made a leather wallet style sheath to protect the knife while stored in a drawer.
