Hello all!
First post after having lurked for some months:
A week ago, my GF and my sister took me out for a belated birthday present. Being a targetshooter for about 7 years now, and hinted a couple times I'd like to shoot some clays sometime, my GF came up with the idea for my birthday, love that girl!
So we went out to a big outdoor-terrain with a traprange. We decided we'd do a course, which also included some rimfire shooting, bow shooting as well as clays.
We started with the rimfire shooting, bunny targets at 25 meters. My GF and I both scored the maximum amount of points there. My sister had a little more trouble, beeing a lefty and cross-dominant. So she scored a bit less then the rest of us.
Then the bow-shooting. I also scored better here. Though the scores were near.
Then the real challenge came. The clays. We shot 4 stations, 5 birds each. Wow, those things are tought to hit. Maybe it's because I'm wired to be aiming at the targets instead of trying to miss them. I hit only 8 of the 20 birds. My GF was a much better shot for the moving things. She hit about twelve I think. My sister wasn't nearly as good, but we all had a good laugh.
In the final scores I won, with 4 points ahead of my GF, but I think she let me win, because it was my birthday. All in all a good day, got a nice red spot on my shoulder as a reminder.
Too bad it's that expensive, and I'm a poor student, because I'd love to bust some more.
