First pistol kill 0f 2011

Gun season opened here today. Went this a.m., but didn't see anything except a couple of fryers. Tried it again this evening and was able to get my first pistol kill of the yr. Used a 44 Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley Hunter with a 240 grn. SWC lead bullet, pushed with 8.5 grns. of Unique. Deer wasn't much bigger than a fryer, but mama said to get some meat. I was out today using my super blackhawk as well, except I didn't see anything.
The season is only halfway though.

I hunted from a short distance ground blind for hogs on my deer lease in Texas, 40 yard shots at the most, we are overrun with hogs, I got one eachday with my Blachawk Bisley in .45 colt with 300 grain Buffalo Bore cast bulletts. it has been real warm down here so also carrying CCI snakeshot and wearing snake leggings. wish I could post pic but am computer idiot. think the gnats were worst. cant wait for colder weather. I hunt middle of day in thick wooded areas for these guys, corn soured with strawberry jello or red soda water really makes it stink in a couple days.
