Well I made my first trip to the range to test my first loads out. Everything went well I still have all of my fingers and my slide did not come off of my gun and hit in between the eyes.
All loads were .45ACP 230 FMJ with Bullseye WLP and mixed brass. All groups were off hand 5 shot at 20 Yrds. I started with ten rounds and shot singles first to verify operation, then shot 3 to ensure proper feeding.
I started with my 4.6 loads. Very low recoil but there was blow back due the case not sealing in the chamber. These rounds dropped a good bit at 20Yrds also. Here is a picture with my Daughter holding up the target, she is smiling because she thinks may live.

Next is 4.8g. These had a litlle more recoil but some of the same signs as above. The accuracy was of on these also. My son with this one.

Next up is 5.0g. I was starting to get there with these. Recoil going up but still light. not as much blow buy as the case is sealing better. Son getting upset now these are getting more to where they need to be.

Now we are getting there 5.2g, hardly no blow back ,the primers looked good and accuracy getting better. My daughter is pretty sure she won't make it through this one.

Now we are talking. Here is 5.4g. these had a recoil closer to factory. I believe I will stay here for now before I try to move up closer to Max. But I really don't see a need to. The son is not happy with this round.

So not a bad day. I have to admit I did close my eyes and turn my head on the first shot. Then the smile came on. I am ready to go run some more. I plan on shooting my reloads at our next match this weekend.
Thanks for everyone's help, and safe shooting.
P.S. no kids were actually injured, they just wanted to model and hold up the target for me to take the pictures.

Pics. didn't work I am trying to link them from photobucket. I will try again later. How do you link photos from pohotbucket.
thanks,
Mark

From the photobucket page displaying the photos, there should be a pull down menu that pops up when you mouse over the pic. Right click on the bottom link, click "copy", then right click over your post, click paste.
I felt the same way when I fired my first ever reloads, but I couldn't get my family members interested enough to hold targets! Nice job!
