I fired my first shot of 2004 the evening of New Years Day.
Younger son and I went down to the basement with a Daisy Powerline 400, the one that looks something like the Desert Eagle.

We stuck a homemade bowling pin target on a box full of old copies of Shotgun News, and ventilated it several times. I had him working on double taps and strong and weak hand shooting.

It was good to shoot a little. Next up will be the Russian side cocking pellet rifle. I just have to remember where the pellets are.

My first shot of 2004 sailed just inches over the back of a coyote at about 200 yards at about 745 AM. I was thinking my new FAB-10 was like my .308, but I quickly remember it wasn't and that I didn't need to hold over like that. The new year was good to that coyote, but not to a few ground squirrels later that day.

Shot in our annual New Years day, freeze your butt off in the snow, 3 gun match.

First shot was weak hand only pistol string on steel plates from 10 to 25 yards. Only 6 of them. Take my gloves off, immediatly begin to shiver. Took me 11 seconds. :( Ouch. :D It got better after that.

150 shots of Wobble Trap, Trap and 5 Stand. Scary thing is I'll have shot 3 days straight in 2004 and I dont know if I can continue that trend tomorrow. 100 Rounds of Wobble last night with the little one, and 100-150 with my Dad and Sister later today.

1000hrs New Year's Day. At the range to sight in a Millett SP-1 on a Savage 24E DL. Fifty rounds of .22mag (that grouped very well, thank you), and a couple slugs of 20ga that--unfortunately--were not even on the paper, indicating that the two barrels shoot to different points of aim. Sort of figured that would be the case, but I'd hoped they wouldn't be so far apart. Forgot to pack shot shells, though, so don't know how it patterns yet.

Then a couple hundred .22lrs through the Remington 541T. Good stuff.

200 rounds on friday, Jan. 2nd at the county range. Used my CZ 75 PCR compact and my recent purchase of a Browning Hi power. The Pcr outshot the Hi Power but maybe that's because I'm more use to it. Enjoyed both!

I put 200 rounds through my CZ 75 P-01 the afternoon of Jan. 1st. Also put about 300 rounds through my Iver Johnson Target .22 Sealed 8. All in all it was a fun day and it was the right way to bring in the new year.:D
