first shotgun purchase

After watching CPAN2 all day today, and the inane stuff that went on, I decided to go out and buy a new gun today....my first shotgun- Benelli Nova.

Well I went with it for a couple reasons, obviously the top 3 choices were Rem 870, Moss 50, & Nova...

1) Don't care for mossbergs @ all...maybe its just the unappealing name but I dislike them, so that left 2.

2) The price was right...$299.

3) I disliked the single bead sight on the 870- the rifle type sights on the Nova seem much better to me for plinking purposes, and for HD purposes its moot, so the nova gained a point there.

But I hope to eventually grab a semi-auto, and relegate to nova to range use, so might as well get to used using a shotty a little more I thought.

What I'm waiting to see is some news of the Nova's use in 3 gun, or adoption by a major agency or dept. If the thing is as tough as hyped, it should last as long as an 870. If not....
