That's pretty stout, and over Hodgdons online data for a 230 Gr jacketed bullet. Approach with caution.
GOOD
LORD! That ... is an understatement
.
I went back thru my books to find where I got that 700x load ... and every single one showed it to be WAY high.
I could not find it. So I opened my excel Log to see my notes from 12/27/14 when I fired that test string ... I started the computer log several days after I fired that string.
Now I will have to try to find my scribbled paper notations for mention of the source ...
So everyone who read that, PLEASE disregard that load.
What little I can recall of that string was that the recoil was stout, but at ~7yds the rounds made a quarter-size hole. WOW!
A stunningly accurate round, but more "power" than I was seeking for my 45s, so I kept looking for something accurate at ~815 to use as a standard load.
Thanks for the oversight,
Walkalong!
BTW, according to my records, in 3 different outings 3 months apart I worked up to that in 4 steps from 5.0gr which, for some reason, I failed to note is listed in my references as
max load territory. <sigh>
