Ok, had to show off my target from my first experience with a 1911. This was a Regent 1911 FS.
Target one, all shots but the initialed ones are mine. Sorry about the size of picture! Don't know how to make it bigger. Anyways, if you want to see the rest of my first shoots with the 1911 check out my blog for more pics.

Nice shooting, Gorgeous:)

Nice shootin! 1911s are deceptively easy to shoot, they point naturally, do a good job of controlling recoil, and have a trigger that will spoil you. They also tend to be habbit forming. :uhoh:

Oh I think I had the habit before I even got one in my hand. It was funny that the guy that was letting me use it was like "Now be carefull little lady cause this is going to kick like a ##&$*" What he didn't know is that I had been shooting a lot of the KAHR CW-45 and that is a very light .45! I kind of blew him away too, he kinda went:what: hehe. Can't wait to get one, hoping that I can find one at the gun show this weekend!

While probably not the designer's original intent, this is the original "modular" handgun. You can change the mainspring housing (which forms the backstrap of the grip) for ones of different shapes, triggers for length of pull and thicknesses and shapes of grips to make it fit anyone's hand.

Yea, I'm looking forward to having my own 1911, plan on getting an RIA next week. I've heard some bad things about Regent, so I wont get one, but I was glad that I got to use it for a bit. Very nice guy to let me borrow it.
I get a chance sunday to shot 3 different 1911's, an RIA, a Springfield Armory, and an S&W!!

You'll love the S&W if it's a PD or Scandium. A friend loaned me both at different times and I was amazed at how quickly you recover your sight picture with those. On the other hand my Ruger P345 was 1/3 the price, conceals well and is more accurate than I am :)

If you were asking me, usually 7 but sometimes 10 yards but have hit out to 50 yards with my P345, although only 2 of 8 that trip. With the S&Ws the targets were 10 yards out. Fun times.

i remember the first time i shot a 1911. It wasn't my brothers brand new springfield armory. He called me and said "lets go to the range and i'll let you see how a real gun shots and feels". He wasnt lying he only let me see. I never got to shot his sa. So i had to go rent a kimber from the range to shot.

Sorry ZeBool, married over a year now. But he knows he's lucky, as he states daily. But I'm flattered anyway. (I used to swing both ways, so it didn't hurt to ask) :)
