I love this gun. I had a blast. I shot a 100 rounds at 7 yards. I am going to enjoy carrying this gun. I think I did pretty good for my 1st try. Right target is first 50 and left is 2nd fifty.

Step back to 15 next time.
I can shoot my snuby great at 7 but 15 thats another story

Nice work bps3040, just keep practicing because trigger control is the key to shooting a J frame well. You look like you are well on your way... Keep it up!

Lol, I will. On a 1st trip with a gun I try to build confidence, not destroy it,lol. I had dry fired 400 times before going...trying to not stage but have a smooth trigger pull. I will keep dry firing, as I think this helps a bunch.

bps3040,
You're right, dry firing does help a lot. when I first shot my snub nose I missed the paper completely with the first 5 shots. I would suggest snap-caps if you are going to do a lot of dry firing. The added bonus is a smoother trigger because of all the trigger pulls.

Nice shootin!
I dry fired my 642 about 200-300 times when I first got it. The trigger smoothed out very nice. I also put on a set of Crimson Trace laser grips. You can do some real accurate point shooting without using the sights. You'd be amazed at how accurate you can hit at 15-20 yards.
Good luck with your little mule.

Thanks for the tips. I am trying to dry fire a couple hundred times a day with snap caps. A LaserMax or CT laser is already planned, lol. I think I would like the feel of the LaserMax better...gripwise, a little higher grip, but they do not automatically come on. So, I am going to get the CT and practice, practice, practice

congrats on the new 642. i hope you like yours as much as i enjoy mine. it is perfect for ccw. just slip it in your pocket and go. my wife sorta confiscated mine so i need to get another one. hmmmm, maybe a 442. i'm hearin the tune to ebony and ivory now.

Nice shooting ... the 642 took me about 50 rounds to get used to (with a little help with some dry firing to get used to the trigger and soften her up a bit)

At this point I am a confident shot and find it to be very easy to handle.
