Can anyone comment FIST holsters?

Specifically this model

I can. I have owned several different models, including the one pictured, for a G26. 3 things about them: 1) they are STIFF. Like kydex almost. 2) when they say "our cordovan is very dark", they mean it's black, with a very slight red undertone. 3) the leather is thicker than most, which is probably part of the stiffness.

Have any specific questions?

I have had, and still have several FIST holsters. Overall, they're quite good for the money. My only complaint is that the finish doesn't hold up too well.

Have owned a FIST holster for two years and am stil impressed with the fit and quality of it.

I bought it. It is clear to me why he was letting it go. It is extremely tight on the gun. It takes a fair amount of pressure to get it to seat and the once the gun is in there it requires one to pull rather hard and hold onto the holster to get it out. I figured for $35 dollars I would get it and see if I could remedy this problem. Any ideas?

The leather is fairly thick and very hard and stiff. I can see the wear marks in it where the pistols is hitting. Would there be a problem with just sanding it down?

This happens w/many good holsters. My method - get 2 grocery bags (some people like saran wrap), put the muzzle of the (unloaded) gun into the bags. Put the gun into the holster w/the bags around it. Let the gun sit overnight. Repeat as necessary. Also, practice your drawstroke.

Leather holsters stretch (if only a little) over time, just like good leather shoes. Once they are broken in, they will last a long time. The slight thickness added by the plastic bag will accelerate this some. I only own one holster that has ever gotten too loose. It wasn't a FIST.

Hope this helps. You got a good deal on a high quality holster.

I currently own 11 holsters by FIST. They are for a variety of pistols or revolvers. I have found each holster to be a quality work at a most affordable price! Also, wait times have not been exhorbitantly long as has been the case with many holser makers these days.

FIST makes quality holsters.

They take awhile to break in, but they are excellent after that and hold up well. I am seriously thinking about going with their hybrid option next time (Kydex on the inside, leather on the outside) to speed up the draw-stroke and avoid a lengthy break-in process.
