I fixed the over penetration problem with Gold Dots. Don't care for the .380.

if i decided to get the kahr pm9, seriously, what should i do about the over penetration??its short barrel should slow it down a little. would a heavy bullet help? 124? 147?

I was just being a smart a$$. She likes her .380 though because she has a weak grip, and her wrist fatigues easily due to battling lupus for years.

I sometimes carry her Bersa Thunder when we are out together and I just don't want the extra weight of my Sigma.

She kind of misses her 38 special, and that's probably going to be our next gun purchase. Right after she gets her concealed carry license, and I get my Play Station III.

Don't worry about "overpenetration". It's a bogus issue used to generate ammunition and training sales. If it won't penetrate several layers of wallboard, then it won't penetrate clothing, flesh and bone.

Again, it comes down to:

1) Using quality jacketed hollow point ammunition from a reputable manufacturer.
2) Shot placement.
3) Make sure you're on the right side.
4) Don't screw up!

I started the thread just kidding around. My wife made the comment tongue in cheek after we read one of the 9mm vs .40 threads.

Personally I have no problems with 9mm. I have carried my Walther P38 at times, and I keep the mag full of JHPs in the closet where I can get to the gun and ammo if needed. I would have no problem with buying another 9mm pistol eventually, if I find one I am really comfortable with. It's just not a high priority for me because there are other guns I want first, including, but not limited to, a coach gun, a big magnum revolver, and another .45 LC.
