Where can I buy S&W parts for an old model 19-1? I need a hammer (rust), trigger (rush), frame screws (almost rounded off), and a rear sight rebuild kit (it was dropped on the rear sight and it is bent in half :fire: ). So where can I order these parts?

Is there anything I can do about scratches in the nickel? Maybe some kind of chrome paint to cover the black scratches up? There are only two scratches but I want this gun to be beautiful.

I have a Tyler T-Grip coming in the mail, and am about to order a set of black pearlite grips from S&W. As soon as I get that rear sight I can start shooting it.

here's a pic of her now, after a lot of cleaning and polishing:

Parts:

Be aware that the hammer, trigger, screws and rear sight parts (other then the base in some cases) in the model 19 were the same as used in models 14 and 15, and parts for the model 10 will work.

The only way you'll get a perfect finish is to have it refinished - chrome paint won't work.

I like to take in abused guns and bring them back to life--but on this one I'd take a deep breath and ship it off to S&W for the full treatment. It'll cost, but you will enjoy the results for many years to come.

Won't get windy here, but look at my comment on the 5" M27 project posted nearby. Same reasons apply.

Then post before and after pictures of this little gem when you get it back.

Easiest Fix

Easiest fix is call S&W and tell them you want to have it re-finished and tuned up.

It will come back like new.

FWIW
