i ordered a votex flash hider for my AR to put in place of the standard A2
anybody on here done any tests on different flash hiders?i should have posted this before i ordered it lol.just wondering if i've upgraded or went backwards?thanks, john

I've owned a smith vortex for my .223 AR, I was pleased with it's fit and performance. It's suppost to have a smaller flash signature than the
old birdcage hiders but I never did come around to putting it to the test.

I plan on getting another one for my 9mm AR shortly.

Final Verdict: Thumbs up:cool:

Every test I have seen shows the Smith Vortex tops at eliminating flash with the Phantom just behind it. Both do a noticeably better job than the A2 or A1 birdcage flashhiders.

I don't have photos but in training govt. agents we used the Vortex. At night from 15 yds with night vision the glow of the hot barrels was brighter than the muzzle flash. Im a firm believer in the Vortex.
