flash hider

Cleaning my AR today and looked down the barrel from the muzzle and was suprise to see the carbon biuld up inside around the muzzle brake/flash hinder and barrel. so my question is, how often do you remove the flash hinder or muzzle brake for cleaning, and does removing it effict the crush washer?

You will need a new crush washer.
I have never removed mine and will not until I buy a suppressor for it.

no need to remove it. just apply your favorite bore cleaner, let it soak and brush off.

I've been shooting M16s, ARs, and M4s for over 50 years. Never saw a need to remove a flash suppressor for cleaning.

Follow advice given above.

Stand your gun up muzzle down with the flash hider submerged in CLP for a couple of days then just scrub it with a nylon brush.
