6.5 CM lapua brass has a SRP and a tiny flash hole. Any thoughts on opening them up to a more standard size? I can get a new pin for decapping, but I was curious what the advantage of the small hole is.

I would not alter the flash hole...

Typically the brass will last longer with srp and hold slightly higher pressure, some mid cartridges perform better with the LRP like the larger capacity stuff whereas the smaller stuff may perform better on srp , Creedmoor is just about the middle of the bunch.
Gotta test them side by side then decide for yourself.

Thanks 243. Lots of discussion in that thread. I’m not one to change things and figured it’s a small hole for a reason, but worth asking, since it’s the only brass I have dealt with like this.

My 6.5 Grendel with regular Hornady brass regular flash hole versus Lapua small flash holes shows with the same powder and charges that velocity is 2675 fps versus Lapua at 2593 fps. That's in a 24" heavy barrel. You would have to be a better shooter and at longer ranges to possibly tell a difference in accuracy as they both shoot about the same at 300 yds and less. I just prefer plain old Hornady
