Hello Gents,

Here are two photos of the firing pin dimple left in the hammer of my FM 90, which has fired less than two hundred rounds of standard pressure ammo since new(purchased unfired and unissued). The firing pin and spring function normally. Does anybody besides me see a problem here with soft steel in this hammer?

The locking lugs in the barrel and slide are knife-sharp and I don't see any unusual wear patterns, so hopefully this problem is restricted to the hammer.
What say thee?

That ain't right.

The good news is that any BHP hammer of your liking is a candidate for fitting.

i have owned more than a few belgium hipowers... in fact one is probably approaching 20000 handloads and i never have seen that condition.i guess they just dont put enough viagra in their hammer steel in argentina.if thats the only problem, take rbernies advice and replace with fn hammer and let her rock n roll. in my opinion a ring hammer looks classic on them!.

FM had issues with soft metal when they moved production to a different plant when Hi Power FN contract expired.
