FN Browning Model 1906 Pocket Pistol Disassembly

The basics are that you should dry fire the gun first (make sure it's unloaded with the magazine removed prior to this. Retract the slide slightly and you'll notice the barrel sticks out of the front of the slide a bit. Looking at the barrel from the front, you'll need to rotate the barrel clockwise about 120 degrees. There is clearance in the slide to do this, however the amount you have to pull the slide back takes a bit of getting used to. Once you have the barrel rotated properly, the whole slide assembly should slide off the front of the frame. The rest is pretty straightforward. There will be two springs, the striker and recoil spring. If the striker is cocked, it can be very dangerous. Make sure the striker is in the forward position as you disassemble.

That's not the disassembly instructions for the 1906, that's for the Baby Browning! It looks like the arrow on the barrel rotation points the wrong way, too! Not that the disassembly is greatly different.

Some people call the old Model 1906 a "baby Browning", but it is a totally different pistol from the real post-WWII Baby Browning. There are similarities, but the guns are not the same.
