I picked up the Shooting Times Gun Guide and noticed its price is listed at only $362. I don't know if that's a hundred-dollar typo or something, but uh, it's definitely going to draw some interest at that price, I'd imagine.

It's DA/SA with interchangeable back-strap inserts, an accessory rail, loaded chamber indicator, is available with a matte black Melonite or matte stainless slide, looks like it's ambidextrous, and comes with three mags.

It sounds promising but I only found a couple discussions when I searched titles only for "FN FNP-45", and there hasn't been any discussion on it since June. When searching entire posts there really wasn't much else added.

I don't shoot .45 ACP, but at $362 (figuring you can find it for around $300) it did catch my interest. I figure that at least there will be a lot of others around here looking for some updates on it.

FN sponsored a shoot in early August for the shop I work for and one of many firearms they brought along was the .45 pistol.

Hard to make any lasting judgments with just 2 mags, but I'll give you what I remember. Liked it better than the FNP-40 and I generally prefer the .40's. Accurate, behaves well under recoil, but feels a bit large ... and a bit tall. Good sights.

Both mags were fired SA only so I don't have an impression of the DA trigger.

Would have liked to have been able to change the grips around just to feel the difference.

As for the $362 price, I don't believe that is accurate.

My favorite firearm of theirs was the M240 B. Since the 240B is obviously not an option for me, I told them I'd gladly take the Special Police Rifle A3 G home and clean it for them. They politely declined my offer of assistance. :(

The gun is not for sale yet - but soon. Hopefully real soon. Lots of guys at the FN Forum are awaiting the commercial release :)

Thanks for replying, guys.

MBott: Didn't you tell them you're NRA certified? Ha ha. =(

Shipwreck: I didn't even know there were FN forums. Do you think the $362 pricing is accurate or a hundred-dollar typo?

The current actual price on FNPs is around $400, I wouldn't think the .45 would be too far off.

I would say that it is probably $100 off. In same models, 45 cal versions typically cost a bit more than the 9mm and 40 cal versions. I would expect the same - maybe even close to $500.

Just in case anybody cares, CDNN currently has them for $533 + $23 shipping.

They're the two-tone version.

That's a really decent deal.

$650 at my local shop for the all-black version. I want one. BAD. I just bought a P-01 last week though, can't justify another pistol...just yet. I think I'd rather have the all black version personally, but the two tone isn't too shabby looking at all.

I just looked at a NIB FNP-45 at a Gun shop. The owner said two mags but I keep reading they come with three. Did FN start shipping them with only two mags now?

As expensive as I heard the mags are the missing mag is a big deal to me.

I've been looking at a lot of 45's and the FN is high on the list. I like the 5.7x28 that I bought a few months ago.

I had been supremely interested in one of these until I heard that they would come with a traditional DA/SA trigger. Now that they are going to be available with the possibility of cocked and locked carry, I am definitely interested again.
