FN HiPowers

This is what Wildalaska is objecting to, Wondernine. How about addressing that?

Oh my God. I think I was so drunk when I originally posted that, I didn't even know what the hell I was talking about FN, FM, NFL....

I also have one of those ex-Isreali FN Hi Powers. Mine was made in '96. It runs fine, but looks pretty ugly with a scratched up matte black finish. Once I get the small military safety replaced, I'll probably start using it as a carry gun.

I still think the reason Isreali's use empty chamber carry is because of their experiences with the older small issue safety on Hi Powers. They are a pain to use.

FN Hi Power

I've got about 500 rounds through my FN HI Power compact. Never a malfunction in any way. It is plenty accurate for a short barreled pistol. It seems to be more accurate than my CZ compact. The trigger takes getting used to but it's not the worst in my collection. Good luck.

Just to add my own 2c ........

Many moons ago used to have an old browning HP ... probably a 50's model ... put many 1,000's of rounds thru that. It went.:(

In more recent times.... wanting an HP but not the budget available .. took the plunge and got a FEG ... have to say I was and am delighted. The finish is nothing short of amazing and ... well mine anyways ... functions flawlessly and is a great shooter all round ... even have used that as a carry piece at times.

Then .... about 2 months ago, bought a Browning HP practical from a fellow member here ........ obviously a lot more expensive than a FEG but .... for me, worth evey dime. Cost me $550, and that included 2 other mags and an IWB Bladetech holster.

I am even more delighted with that and whilst I know the previous owner will miss it .... it is still in very good hands.
