Has anyone had there hands on one of these Pistols from FN? I have read a couple articles on it but want to get the unbiased side of the story from every day shooters. I am thinking of buying one and want to know all the pros and con on accuracy and reliability.

Thank you

Excellent pistols, just rung one out and its flawless...

One of my buds has one, and the one in our display case looks real tempting....

Glad to hear it I am thinking about one for a duty weapon now that it has the SFS on it. About what is the retail on one of them?

I understand that it is a correction to a problem that does not exsist mechanically, but There is an exsisting problem in the LE community in some areas concerning the "evil" single action auto from a liabilty stand point. As seen from trial lawer's eyes.

I am intrigued by the SFS system. I believe it was used many years ago on a (largely ignored) Daewoo 9mm pistol. Although I don't have a problem with cocked and locked carry, I think there would be some benefit to carrying uncocked, but still have all single action trigger pulls.

The problem is, I don't think it really is uncocked. Even though the hammer is down, I believe the hammer spring is still under tension.

Anyone out there actually have one?

FN HP with SFS past owner

I owned one of these and loved it. I sold it recently to another THR member to fund a shotgun restoration and I heard he loves it also. I only sold it because it is slightly to large to carry and when I carry I decided I like the idea of throwing bricks if needed. I mainly carry while hunting, so use a .45 for my setters and boar and bear protection.

I am not a smith in any way so I cant explain the system through and through. I can only give you my subjective felings. I really liked it. It seemed perfectly balanced, fit my hand with the addition of pachmay grips, and shot perfectly for me. It seemed a very safe concept, creating a single action with a quick, easy press on the cocker. In the manual was a good desription of the SFS system, I just can not quote it now.

I loved this little gun and it pained me to sell it. I purchased a Police Model for $450 at a Eastmans Gunshow in Atlanta, Ga from a local dealer. I cant remember his name, but I might be able to find it. Three mags, case and cleaning kit. I thought it would be a perfect 9mm for safety officers.

Bought Axeman_G's SFS HP

Hi Axeman_G,

I will echo Axeman_G comments on the FN SFS pistol. Quality fit and function of the pistol is flawless. For the purest this pistol will not fit their needs, but if you want the capability to carry loaded hammer down, just flip recocking lever and your ready to go.

For the price of the pistol with additional items Axeman_G provided I'm very happy.
