FN SLP

The only difference is the sighting system. The SLP has the LPA ghost ring sights and the MkI has regular open rifle sights. The difference is basically the same as Winchester's SuperX2 Practical MkI and MkII except the SX2 MkI has regular sights and the MkII has the ghost ring.

I picked up a Win SX2 Practical MkII a couple weeks ago as they are no longer being offered and it's been on my want list for a while. Here it is below my Benelli M1 Super90 Practical.

I also got an FN SLP earlier this year but never took a photo of it before putting it away in the safe. The sights pictured on the SX2 P MkII (as well as the M1S90 P) are the same sights that would be on the SLP. In fact, the SX2 P MkII is the SLP with just a longer barrel and mag.

The barrel (and magazine) on the Practical is a bit longer, too- 22" vs. 18" on the SLP IIRC.

FN SLP 18" barrel FN SLP MK1 22" barrel. And I think sights are different.

Interesting. I just bought a FN SLP this past Sat. I had been looking at the SX2 which is same gun. The SX2 has a dura touch forearm and buttstock that I really liked the feel of but decided on the FN SLP as I wanted the shorter barrel. I called Winchester today and they told me the dura touch forearm and buttstock were compatible with the FN SLP. So called their parts department and was told they don't sell the dura touch line. I never told them it was to switch to a FN SLP but to replace on a SX2. The only way they sell the part is if the old/ damaged one is returned to them then they will sell the replacement. I was disapointed but still really like FN SLP. I am curious if the FN SLP MK1 has the dura touch forearm and buttstock.

Oh yeah. It's been a while since I've been on FN's website. Looks like the SLP MkI is in fact identical to the Win SX2 P MkI. Not sure about the stock material though. It says 'synthetic stock' on the website which I take to mean hard plastic.

The Duro Touch stock is very nice. Very grippy and cushiony. Maybe too grippy for some folks. I thought for sure I would mar it by digging a fingernail into the sticker thats on it to pull it off but no scratches appeared.
