first trip to the range, i fired magtech fmj, remington hp. i tried some wwb, but like other reviews have stated, some are a little long for the magazine. my glock 30 magazines must have a little more room to accommodate for overall length. other than the wwb, it functioned flawlessly. I like the soft recoil and curved back strap. i started with the flat back strap, but after i switched to the curved back strap my consistency improved a noticeable amount. funny how something small like that can make a big difference.

has anyone noticed that when there are a certain number of rounds in the mag you can hear the bullets rattling inside the mag when you shake it or firmly seat the rounds to the rear of the magazine. with mine i can hear a rattling when 7 through 10 rounds are in the mag, but before 7 and after 10 it does not. Does anyone know if it is ok to dry fire the fnp 45?

My FN Tactical .45 is a "jam-O-matic with anything and everything I've put through it. About 1% to 8% jam rate on any ammo. Sent it back yesterday on my dime, which is a problem to me. FN would NOT pay shipping under any circumstance. Personally, I think that's reprehensible. I have never sent a pistol (actually any firearm) back to anyone that they did not supply a mailing label. So I'm out about $1150 on the pistol, over $400 of ammo (over 800 rounds of FMJ & HP's, several brands) now I get to pay shipping too.
Bad move on FN's part. I surely hope they have a competent, thorough service department or they probably won't fix it. The jams are FTF and erratic, at times you can fire 80-100 rds. without a jam. Then at times you may get 5 out of a mag. My fear is they will shoot it 30 times and return it saying "all is well". It may just fire 30 rounds without a glitch. Wish me luck.

Mine rattles with all 14 in the mag (it's a .40) It pisses me off. Actually though, I have one mag that doesn't do it so that's weird.
You can dry fire all day, man, no worries.
I love my FNP. Not one malfunction, ever.
I keep track of the companies that won't pay shipping for a defective gun. Although I own an FNP45 USG, I won't buy another FNH product. I sold all of my Beretta's and will NEVER buy another, as they are pompous and never pay for shipping.
