I'm going to upgrade the sights in my FNP with the Ameriglo Fiber optic sights. But I'm not sure if I should go with the front only Red or the Green rear/ Red front combo.
I'm thinking of going with the front and rear combo but I noticed that on the comp model that they only have the Red on the front, just curious if there is a reason for this?

Thanks for the input

You're gonna swap out the factory 3 dots? From all the guns I've seen, FN's factory 3 dots are my favorite sites.

I like the sights but I held a Comp model and the Red rod on the end is nice and bright. I think it will help myself with lining up on target quicker.

I did and it works fine. The only thing is that the back sight is a little wide on the gap for my likes.

If you've been shooting the weapon for a while and can bring the front and rear sights up already aligned, the front will probably be fine since the rear dots become a bit redundant then. I've been shooting the 45 comp fine with just the front fiber and have never wished I had dots (white or fiber) at the rear.

Thanks,

I could see how the multiple fiber dots could be a bit much, I think I will just go with the single front. I like the idea of the narrower rear stock sight too.

Notoast, do you know what the other differences are with the regular vs the comp model? I did a search and the only thing I could find, other than the sight, was a "tuned" trigger.

Besides the sights being different, the comp has a removable panel on the top of the slide where you can flush mount an electronic red dot sight. It also has a lighter pull in single action than the standard model (4 lb vs 5 lb I believe) and comes with three 15 round mags.
