FNP- good, bad, or ugly?

I've heard nothing but good. Seems that it is an underrated and very well built firearm at a value. Never had the luck to get my own paws on one. Just the rumblings I've heard about it...

The FNP is a great pistol. The earlier ones (like mine) had some problems with the fire control group breaking. FN fixed mine within a month and it has been perfect since then with about 2K rounds.
The trigger is one of the best on a polymer pistol IMO, though I prefer the P99 AS trigger.

OH YEH!! Not much,500 rnds today, out of an FNP-45 I got four days ago.

Wanted to FTF with first round of first two magazines...then ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Slow fire, standing two hand,25 yrds messured,FULL MAGAZINES INTO ONE HOLE!!14 rnds of off the shelf ammoe, several brands.Oh, ALL BULLS EYES!!:what:If it did not hit the bullseye it was my falt, completely!:eek:Got too excited.

Fast fire same distance same stance gave easy 3" groups for a full magazine.

If you can grip one of these large pistols comfortably GET ONE! Time will tell the real story but WOW! Modern, made for combat,High Cap. .45acp,ambidextrous in every way and Made In USA! Price in my neck of the woods is around $565.00+/-. I got mine for $513.00:D

Thus far I have nothing but good things to say about it,except I wish the slide release was a bit bigger. But I imagine they made it that way to help keep it down in width...they are rather large.

If you are interested run a search on the FN sites and look for FNP-45 Military. This not yet in production version has serations on the front portion of the slide-I wish mine did too-,a threaded barrel, tritium supressor sites and the color is Dark Earth for both the frame and slide. If they make this I'll get two!! Are ya' listening FNH USA?!

There are 3 other FNP pistols, which are you interested in?
I did months of research on a 45 and picked the FNP45

I haven't fired one, but I was amazed by how good it felt in my hand. It's is one of a VERY few DA/SA autos that has proper trigger reach for me. I would be more inclined to buy an FNP at this point than a CZ75 because of the trigger reach issue, and I don't really like conventional DA/SA autos.

The FNPs are great guns. Own an FNP-9 (my only 'poly'), have almost 2000-rnds in, ZERO problems, FTFs, FTEs, etc.
For me, great feel and hand-fit... excellent shoot, very accurate, simple 'tear-down/cleanup'... and for the $$, it's really an excellent value.
If you like the looks, hand-fit, etc... you can't go wrong... And their FNP-45 is simply awesome!

The FFL who does my transfers is also a reviewer at www.gunweek.com ...so he shoots and writes for a living. He also collects high end 1911's...the ONLY plastic pistol in his collection is a FNP .40!!! He has put several thousand trouble free rounds through his and LOVES it!

I bought my wife a lightly used P9M with 7 additional magazines for around $475 back in February. There were a number of FTF's in the first fifty rounds, but after that, it started working fine. She loves it, and I would like to get one myself.

Fnp 45

I, just today-saw the Fnp 45 advertised on the "outdoor channel"-just for a second, w/not much info; exxcept that it was a GREAT 14 round, fine-shooting
45 auto, which was enough to get my attention, knowing the good reputation of Fn guns ! So, I was glad to find some good talk-here on this website; where the shooters get to discuss freely their experiences etc. Thanks, guys, for all you've written-& if anybody has a good link -to reccommend-I'd be interested in seeing it posted. I'd like to see more pictures & info>but I'm having some computer problems-I haven't been able to find the best site, yet, for Fn info.
Thanks for what is here ! Anybody got any more recent experiences?

thanks for your input. for how well it fit my hand, the stainless slide, 3 mags, and the price, it seemed that something had to go horribly wrong.

what are the capacities on the three models??

shameless pic posting :D

Although known throughout the world, FN is not as well known to Americans who have not served in the military...and even then the company is more known to those in the Combat branches of the various US Armed Services.

FN's reputation for quality, customer satisfaction and service is second to none. And, lately, they're becoming even more reknowned for their "blue collar" prices of their FNP sidearms...all made in the USA!

I'm for the FNP-45 USG!

The FNP-45 USG is a combat handgun that is proving to be Good to Go" right out of the case. It holds 14+1 rounds with the regular magazines, 15+1 rounds with the extended mag (shown below). All FNP's come with three magazines. The FNP-45 USG comes with two 14 rd mags and one 15 rounder. The 1913 front rail can hold tac lights (also shown). The perceived recoil is repeatedly reported to be equal to or less than most 9mm auto-loaders. The selector switch is both Safety and Decocker allowing one to carry "Cocked & Locked." The grip needs no "add-ons" for dependable handling. And it's selling from $485-$550 around the nation.

And I managed to get her for under $400...but that's another story!
Here's my big Girl!
