I can’t speak to the FNX, but I used to own a FNS-9L (longslide) and really liked it. It was quite accurate, 100% reliable, and fit and finish were good. Unfortunately, I wanted the version with the thumb safety, but received the slickslide version (apparently the longslide w/safety was discontinued right as I ordered it), so I eventually sold the FNS.
I really like the idea of a good polymer frame DA/SA pistol and thought hard about replacing the FNS with a FNX, but my local gun shop had a screaming good deal on a M&P2.0 in .40 with a thumb safety, so I went with that instead.
