# Arnold Schwarzenegger was trained for weeks on weapons handling before he started the film (The Terminator) , and wound up garnering a compliment in "Soldier of Fortune" magazine for his realistic handling of the guns on camera (whereas the magazine usually lampoons movies for their inaccurate depictions of weapons use)

I even named my S&W 686P .357 Mag after the big fellow.
Although he has a lot of flaws, compared to the aptly named Gray Davis,Arnold stands as a beacon of hope ,in the very tarnished Golden State.
Hopefully,he will eventually evolve as a truly moderate Republican.
In my former home state of California,I'll take what ever sanity can be gotten right now.

Wait....

The super big laser sight on the longslide at point blank range was realistic handling?

I'm not, but why would a super robot from the future even need a laser sight at all?

I think that was referencing Terminator 2 rather than the first one. The second one you see both the T800 and T1000 chamber checking every weapon they pickup amongst other things.

Alright. T2 was much better. I don't think the 'shotgun twirl' was a good example of safe firearms handling. But if you were a bulletproof killbot I suppose it would be just fine :) (Doesn't hurt to look awesome if you are impervious to bullets)

Gov. Arnold Kennedy also signed into law the microstamping of ammo bill, too.

He does what his Uncle Teddy Kennedy and his Kennedy wife tell him to do.

He's nothing more than a left wing RINO.

In my mind, the Terminator movies should be exempt from the "safe gun handling" expectation, because they're Terminators.

1. Their primary purpose is to end human life, which safe gun handling seeks to protect.
2. They are machines, they don't make mistakes. Their trigger fingers do not reflexively curl when they're grabbing for something, and they never, ever pull the trigger without intending to.

This is, of course, fictitious "in-world" justification.

I think Arnie's great. Take him outside of CA, and I think he'd truly come out in favor of the 2A.

Of course, that's pure speculation on my part, but I really like what he's done to turn CA around, gun control issues aside.

The Terminator was a very educational movie. I was not aware that it was possible to obtain a fully-automatic Uzi 9mm with only a maximum 14-day waiting period in California in 1984.

I know Arnold is a RINO

Yes you can still buy full auto 9mm UZIs in California with only a 4473 and 15 day wait

One of the scenes cut from the theatrical version was where the terminator was shown modifying the weapons to fire full auto.

Remove all the exemptions from gun laws that the movie industry enjoys and see how long it takes to get some repeals.

Arnold was in the Austrian Army for their usual term, which I THINK was 18 months. I do know he was a tank-driver, I've seen his "personal" M-48 tank when Planet Hollywood opened up at Easton Mall in Columbus. I would assume he passed their rifle marksmanship requirements in the Austrian version of basic.

Come to think of it, I believe Mott's Military Museum (in scenic Groveport, Ohio) actually has Arnold's tank now.

I keep hearing about his good gun handling in T2 but when I watch it all I see is his finger on the trigger throughout the movie.

Linda Hamilton's gun handling was much better IMO.
