Okay here it is. For those who like the older all steel S&W autos. My Model 745. I'll be getting it out to the range in the next few days. $375 OTD.

Cool. Good thing you can still find nice ones like that. Enjoy!

You stole it! $375 is an unbelievably good price for the 745 which is an excellent .45 ACP. A big congrats for even finding one and then paying such a small amount for it. ;)

I wish he did. A lot of the knick-knacks you see in the background are gifts from my kids (now teenagers and past the cute gift stage), wife and parents. My Man Cave is an interesting blend of masculine and cutesy stuff. Hey it's what you do when you're married and have kids. You display all the gifts. Actually the troll and I have gotten to be pretty good friends.

Today I had both my 1911A1 and the 745 out and was holding them akimbo (both empty). Talk about some Heavy Metal. Felt like I had escaped from a 1980's action movie.

Super sweet deal on a gun that I always longed for but never got around to getting one. The one you "stole" looks fantastic and hope it gives you many years of great shooting emjoyment.

Now you just need a black double shoulder rig for them, an Uzi slung across your back, a Plymouth Fury and a moustache!

Sweet deal! I loves me some S&W autos, especially 3rd Gen autos.

Took it to the range yesterday. Shot like a champ. Absolutely no sniffles. I was able to clang many a steel target at 40 and 50 yards with it. The only thing was it took me a couple magazines to settle in with it. The past few years I've been shooting revolvers and Glocks. I used to own a couple Sigs, but they're gone. I've gotten used to how the Glock design sits low in the hand. I'd forgotten how the older style autos have a higher bore axis and therefore more muzzle flip. But after a few mags I settled in and got to work. Very easy shooting gun. That all-steel frame sucks up the recoil.

Please excuse my ignorance, but I've never even heard of a 745.

That's a beauty

I'd never come across one before until this one. Just read about them. It's a single action only with an adjustable trigger stop, beveled magazine spout and a hammer drop and Novack low profile rear sights. Some sources say the barrel is a heavy target barrel while others sources don't address the barrel. It was designed for the IPSC crowd. I believe the intention was that it was meant to serve as a platorm. And I have since come across photos of 745's which were "souped" up in the late eighties with laser sights, expansion chambers and so on.

I plan on leaving this one alone.
