Sig 229, 9mm stainless slide w/ night sights, new in the box, never fired with 2 13rd mags. I got it as part of a trade.
I’m not sure I want to sell it, but I already have the exact same gun, and the funds from the sale could be used to fund other things. I’m torn. I really like the one that I have, and this one is so new and shiny. It still has that new gun smell. If I was to sell it I don’t even know what its worth. What would you do? I need some advice.

You may actually be able to sell it for close to a NIB Sig 229. Lots of people (myself included) actually prefer the gun without the rail. I have a 9mm 229. Thought about selling it several times, but keep thinking that, to replace it, I'd have to get one with rails next time around or buy used. Assign a value to it from your trade and make sure you accept no less than that. A recent trip to the shop revealed NIB 229s in the low $700s, so maybe $550 or $600 for a private sale. Just my guess. The night sights and standard cap mags are good selling points.

This isn't an auction site, y'know.

Freddymac, if you're offering your pistol, you really ought to post it in the proper area. Since you're apparently looking for fair market value, I'll give you a full day on this forum and then close your thread. Then you can put a price on it and post it on Buy, Sell, Trade: Handguns forum Fair enough? ;)

Thanks. I was looking to see what it was worth to determine if I wanted to sell it or not. I wasn't trying to auction it off. I appreciate your understanding, and letting the post stay up for a little while.

Southpaw...

The 229's that you saw, were they the stainless slides or the regular steel? Also did they have nite sights?

thanks for your help.
