There's an outfit out of San Antonio called the "Texas Wildlife Association. (They now have a website.) Folks like Gib Lewis (once Speaker of the House) and Susan Combs (Ag Commish) have been on its Board of Directors. I hooked up with the outfit back (Sheesh!) some 15 years ago, when they were first getting started.

They've become successful enough that they influence hunting legislation and TP&WD regs. While the direct mission isn't pro-gun, they naturally work with TSRA.

Associate membership is $35 a year; full-bore voting active is $100.

One of the more worthwhile activities is setting up hunts for kids on some of the big-deal hunting ranches. For this alone it's worth joining, particularly if you have kids. It's an info source for hunting-ranch improvements as well as info on the various wildlife research meetings and symposia. They have an annual meeting at Kerrville in the springtime.

I think it's worth supporting, but for sure it's worth checking out.
