For those that carry a flashlight everywhere...

One resides in my briefcase at all times.
Mine resides in a lower side pocket of my Carhartt trousers.

Standard edc: wallet in back right pocket, keys on belt loop tucked into left rear, Quark in left lower.
I use it at least once daily, often dialing the combo of my bike lock after dark.

22, using 3 smaller batteries means you get more volts but less storage. More volts means more lumens you can advertise on your packaging.

I almost always have my new Streamlight PT-2L. I always have my Streamlight key mate with me, love that little thing, just wish it ran off of 1AAA instead of the buttoncells, I've been thinking about upgrading to one of the Maratacs just because of that. Anybody out there know a good source for those button cells?

Try these-I just got some for a Key-Mate that had been laying around with dead batteries-got another Key-Mate and had to go looking for reasonably priced batteries!
You probably want the 357 (they're silver oxide) instead of the LR44 & A76 anyway?

Are the silver oxides better than the alkaline?
My understanding is they are-admittedly I didn't do that much research, but enough to know (didn't take much) given a choice I'll take the silver oxide.

Think it was 'bout like comparing alkalines to lithiums-maybe not as dramatic a difference, but I think the silver oxides have a longer shelf life etc.

EDIT: Your Google Fu will turn up articles such as Silver Oxide Vs. Alkaline Battery.

I had a Surefire G2L with a light diffuser on it until I lost it in Disney World, so I relegated to my Streamlight Stylus Pro until I can afford it again. It's still a good flashlight!

I am glad I am stuck on a few Streamlight, SureFire, Pelican and a couple of others.

There are so many good lights out there now that a retail newcomer is faced with a bewildering number of choices.

I opted for the coleman max series, they put out an amazing amount of light, 75 lumens and up, depending on the particular flashlight, i have 3...

Truck -75 lumen
Bedroom- 95 lumen
Downstairs-125(?) lumen

I carry a Coleman Max aluminum Cree LED light. It's a bit bigger around than other EDC style lights, but it packs 144 lumens and runs on 3 AAA batteries, so I know I can get batteries anywhere. They say it should have a 6 hour runtime. Very simple, no adjustable brightness or adjustable focus, but definitely gets the job done, and appears very well constructed for the price.

UK2 AAA - UnderwaterKinetics - High intensive Xenon bulb - 100% waterproof - 12 x 120 mm

For an inexpensive EDC that uses (1) AA battery (ubiquitous) and has virtually unlimited modes (strobe with adjustable rates, low, high, etc.), this $12 light works well. Rated at 220 lumens, though I'm skeptical of that claim. I have much better lights for other purposes, but this one is a small, multi-function, programmable "220" lumen option that uses easily obtainable batteries & clips to your pocket very easily.

For a better, brighter light, I like the SolarForce L2m, though it's quite a bit larger for EDC. Jim ("Jimdo" on THR) is a great guy to deal with and gives you great customer service, too.
