JPFO ALERT: STEALTH STRATEGY TO STEAL YOUR GUNS!

((( Remember that whenever they say "Peace", it translates as "No Guns!" )))
((( Where was the NRA on this one, this time? )))

Another probable slap in the face for our veterans ..........

"The Peace Alliance" describes a bill to establish a "United States
Department of Peace" -
http://www.thepeacealliance.org/content/view/76/68/ . A feelgood
attempt to "save the world for our children's children" and about
as unrealistic as trying to spare 200 (desolate) square miles of
ANWR from oil drilling.

There is much talk about providing nonviolent solutions to the
problems of domestic and international conflict but this is
idealistic more than practical as it ignores the realities of
modern times as well as history and the nature of the basic human
animal. Reference is also made to treating and dismantling the
gang psychology - there is a naive approach if ever there was one,
showing a near total lack of understanding about gang culture. A
sweeping cure for poverty and bad parenting might be a marginally
better approach! Then there is "rehabilitate the prison
population" ... another head-in-sand objective which totally fails
to comprehend the criminal mind. Recidivism is the magic word!

While it is doubtful the majority of rational people seek violence,
it is equally a fact of life that violence exists and always will.
We should be very concerned however as, carefully concealed within
a bill such as this will be inevitable proposals to increase gun
control, which always only affects the law abiding, and probably
fitting in very nicely with the UN stance of banning guns world
wide! "The gun" gets all the blame and always will but we have to
remain vigilant as stealth attempts at attrition and erosion of the
second amendment continue - often right under our noses.

The act is named "Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act" - H.R.
808 - see here for details ...
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd?bill=h110-808&tab=summary

Looked at the bill - ugh. some people.

Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act - Establishes a Department of Peace and Nonviolence, which shall be headed by a Secretary of Peace and Nonviolence appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Senate. Sets forth the mission of the Department, including to: (1) hold peace as an organizing principle; (2) endeavor to promote justice and democratic principles to expand human rights; and (3) develop policies that promote national and international conflict prevention, nonviolent intervention, mediation, peaceful resolution of conflict, and structured mediation of conflict.

Perhaps the people who wrote this garbage have never seen this website: http://www.state.gov/
