For you Guys who tumble with stainless media

First load of 300 45ACP, better than new! After rinsing in hot water, dumped on towel, shook a few times and about 2 min with hair dryer, totally dry, no spots. The search for dirty cheap brass continues!
By using Ctrl+ on viewing your pictures, I was able to see 2 case heads with very clean primer pockets. Are they all that clean? Did you find any pins stuck in flash hole or primer pocket? Do you now understand why I recommended de-priming before tumbling?

They look too nice to shoot .... LOL.

Have fun loading your "NEW" casings!!!

I'll continue to use the method I've used for years and years. Its worked for me and if it ain't broke no reason to fix it.

Furthermore I see no reason for the expense I would incur as I already have the complete setup.

For my reloading I see no advantage other than a clean case inside and a slightly cleaner primer pocket, which makes no difference to me.

For those that spotless inner cases and spotless primer pockets are a huge concern, I say go for it. But I seriously doubt its required.

They are all that clean and nothing stuck anywhere on any cases. I added a step to keep the brass from tarnishing, threw them in my Vibrator w/walnut media and some NuFinish for about an hour, now waxed! Nothing sticking here either after a quick tumble in the media separator. This should really drive the "Don't Care if they're shiny" guys off the cliff!

Question: Why walnut media instead of corncob media?

My walnut media is all with red dust abrasive.
My corncob media has no abrasive mix.

I assume ===== your walnut media has no abrasive dust in or on it.

Let me know if normal tarnish re-appears, as this could be the answer I was looking for in another thread I started here. Now I know everyone is going to jump on me for already recommending this treatment, but you are the first to do it after tumbling in SS Pins. I thank you for your inventiveness and your willingness to post with pictures here.

OKAY.mine got here today :what:
Tip over on ar/15.com you can biuld a 2x6 frame with screen mesh and put on top of ac unit instant hot air
Great idea - but Winter is coming here in Minnesota.
My plan - started work, but other projects get priority - is to use a high volume fanmotor that is ducted with large PVC piping and screens to prevent loss of brass casses. Hard to explain, but I will include photos of my rube-goldberg setup when done. Then work on making it more presentable. I will steal warm dry air from house and return warmer wet air to house which is sometimes needed, but keeps moisture out of my reloading area.

Walnut, because that's what I had in there, no other reason. I've never really had a dust problem, I throw some torn up paper towels sprayed with a few squirts of Meguiar's Quik Detailer in with the mix, they used to pickup a lot of dirt although now so much because the brass is already clean when it goes in. I'll leave the container I have the brass in open this weekend, but I don't think I'll see any tarnish, they feel pretty glossy.

Dish soap and Lemishine works for me. Proper rinse is important after about 3 hours. then into the oven at 100F for 30 minutes. They come out perfect and not water spots.
