"tales of the gun" videos on youtube are another excellent source of early firearms history.

forgotten weapons is one of my favorite youtube channels. thanks for the video, driftwood.

Good stuff! Probably deflated a few myths for some folks. And it is truly a shame what has happened with Colt.

What the dickens does that have to do with anything?

Ian McCollum is a well respected expert on all kinds of weapons. I have been watching his videos for years now.

Here is a link to his web page that is chock full of great videos.

Looks like somebody is trying to win the intellectually challenged prize of the day.

Forgotten Weapons is the best channel on the internet for the true firearms aficionado and historian. Ian is a true subject matter expert, with way more than can be said for most gun Youtubers.I actually appreciate that he does not look like somebody out of a 511 catalog- Reminds me when I was in my 20's, dressed very snowboarder/skaterish, and enjoyed schooling the greasy fat beards at the LGS by knowing more about the guns they were selling than they did.

Hickok45 tends to hurt my brain with his extended commentary, and the number of overweight, middle age guys running around trying to be tacticool makes be want to vomit.

..............and a contemporary of he Celebrated Dr. Coult of New York, London and Calcutta

Ian is one of, it not THE, best firearms expert out there. He does great work putting out free content to folks on the history and engineering behind a wide variety of firearms.

I've met Ian in person and I can tell you this, the man is incredibly intelligent and a wealth of knowledge about old firearms. I find your comment to be ignorant at best.
