Figured it'd be fun to have a thread with knives and swords that first and foremost, look cool to you. Forget the snickering behind your back, let that inner mall ninja out (or your inner elf for the Tolkien types). This might not be easy, but forget ergonomics, forget utility, forget people laughing at you and post a pic or two or a knife or sword that you think is cool. So, let go and be a geek for a few.

I'll start with a sword. I was 9 when my whole family took us to see the Sword and the Sorcerer. Completely inappropriate for kids, we were given a pass since it was the first movie my stuntman uncle was in. The hero wielded a sword with three blades- the outer two would launch like missiles, the hilt hid a dagger.

To witness this steel mistress in action is a thing of beauty.

God, I love that thing. If I had the spare money to get it, it would hang above my fireplace.

I love the sword of Nameless from Hero . Other than the big hole in the middle of the bldae it has a very simple and attractive look to it.

AUS6 isn't what I'd put in a sword, but Kabar could sell tons of those in 5160.

I never considered that, but a wakizashi done up with a stacked leather handle, black phosphated guard a la SOG bowie, differentially heat treated, polished, acid etched, and hot blued blade... that would be a really awesome fusion piece.

Wakabarizashi? That is interesting, and not unappealing.

Here is something Albion did as a riff on the sword described in Heinlein's Glory Road swashbuckle novel.
