I need to pull some .416 bullets from their cases. The Forster website lists a collet for .40 and .429 but no intermediate. Does anyone have any real-world experience with this produst and caliber that can tell me that the .429 collet will close down on the .416 or that the hole in the .40 collet will open up to accommodate a .416? I left an email for the Forster Customer Service folks as well.

I have the Hornaday Camlock puller. The smaller size on my puller will usually open up enough to pull the larger sized bullet without damaging the bullet. I don't tighten up the collet as tight when doing this. I have used the .308 size to pull .311 and .312 bullets on mine. Yours should work in the same way. On the Midway USA website the bullet size ranges are listed for each collet and you can see if they recommend using the ones you have on that size bullet.

How many do you have to pull?

Unless it is a mass quanity, a hammer puller will pop those big bullets out quite easily.
